Saudi prince strikes a 拢736m deal with BinLaden Group to construct the world鈥檚 tallest tower
Saudi Arabian tycoon Prince Alwaleed has announced plans to build the world鈥檚 tallest building in Jeddah.
His company Kingdom Holding has struck a deal worth 拢736m with contractors the BinLaden Group to construct the kilometre-high tower.
Chicago practice Adrian Smith & Gordon Gill Architecture has been confirmed as the architects of the skyscraper.
At over 1,000m tall, the tower will be 173m taller than the current tallest building in the world, Dubai鈥檚 Burj Khalifa.
The tower will feature a Four Seasons hotel, serviced apartments, office space, luxury flats and the world鈥檚 highest observatory. Lifts are expected to take 12 minutes to reach the top floor.
Design development of the tower is under way, with construction to begin imminently.
