The ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø the Future Think Tank

The ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø the Future Commission will continue into 2024. Having embarked on this enormously ambitious project – covering eight very broad areas - we realise the current challenges facing construction as a sector and the wider built environment need ongoing research.

This is why we are setting up our own editorial research hub, known as The ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø the Future Think Tank, which will be dedicated to producing more in-depth research and reports on behalf of the industry.

For now we plan to focus the think tank’s programme for 2024 on five key areas, though we are taking soundings from the industry and the list could expand to cover more topics. The themes identified so far are: AI and digital construction, implementing net zero, workplace and productivity, building safety, and people and skills.

  • ‘Certainty of pipeline’ one of the keys to productivity improvements, conference told

  • Industry leaders criticise lack of resource and competence at ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø Safety Regulator

  • ‘Embrace AI technologies,’ Scape boss urges construction

  • Days of demolish and rebuild ‘long gone’, Bam chief tells conference

  • Industry needs to be more vocal in supporting Grenfell findings, Wates boss says, and warns contracting’s ‘bizarre’ margins not sustainable
