Willmott Dixon has beaten Kier and Engie to win Places for People鈥檚 sole supplier major projects framework, which is worth up to 拢2.5bn over four years.

Procurement Hub, part of the Places for People Group, said it received 16 responses to the selection questionnaire and three responses to the tender.

These came from Willmott Dixon, Kier and Engie, who acquired Keepmoat鈥檚 regeneration business last year.

The major projects framework was set up for public sector organisations to deliver major projects in response to government鈥檚 call to address the housing shortage.

Its aim was to select a supplier to manage the supply chain and sub-contractors either on behalf of, or in conjunction with, the contracting authority.

Alan Heron, director of procurement, said: 鈥淲ithout the ability to appoint a single primary contractor to manage this, there is a real and tangible risk that some projects may not be delivered.

鈥淭he major projects framework represents a choice in the market. It is by no means the only choice and is not designed or intended for the appointed supplier to deliver 100% of the works without engaging with the wider supply chain.鈥

The works and services will be made up of all types of building construction works and associated civil and M&E works and may include design and other services as required.

Willmott Dixon is also on Scape Group鈥檚 National Construction Framework and the Southern Construction Framework.
