Successful education schemes in Cambridge and Kings Cross win practice Schüco Gold Award at BD awards

Stanton Williams has been presented with the Schüco Gold Award at BD’s Architect of the Year Awards.

The practice won the architect of the year title for its work on Central St martins art school in Kings Cross and the Sainsbury Laboratory in Cambridge. It was also named education architect of the year.

Hopkins Architects was named Sports Architect of the Year, in the most hotly contested category of the night.

Judges were impressed by the diverse portfolio of the 2012 Velodrome architect, which included the designs for two cricket stadiums in India.
