Timber importer John Brash has launched a decking that it says is more slip-resistant than conventional decking.

Called Antislip Plus, it is aimed at external smoking areas, which businesses might consider providing when legislation takes effect this July to ban smoking in workplaces. The design is a variant on conventional decking and features a series of shallow ridges milled into the surface of the timber, with raised aggregate-impregnated resin strips. Even when wet, the company says the deck has higher slip resistance than the current British Standard for slip resistance testing. John Brash says that all its hardwoods and softwoods are sourced from certified, sustainable and professionally managed forests.
