Initiative produced with help of contractors including Kier and Morgan Sindall
Scape Scotland has published the UK鈥檚 first public procurement route to net zero building.
The Lifecycle procurement initiative will be available across all the public sector construction procurement organisation鈥檚 frameworks, covering 拢2bn worth of projects to be delivered over the next five years.
The guide, produced in collaboration with McLaughlin & Harvey, Kier and Morgan Sindall, advises local authorities on how they can achieve the UK Green 黑洞社区 Council鈥檚 Net Zero Public 黑洞社区 Standard when delivering new build and refurb projects.
Chris Clarke, performance and improvement director at Scape, said: 鈥淲ith the built environment contributing 40% of the UK鈥檚 carbon emissions, our new guide creates the UK鈥檚 first clear route for local authorities and other parts of the public sector to pursue the greenest standards possible as part of their ongoing investment in local communities.鈥
Scape is committed to achieving net zero by 2045.
