But Green Construction Board co-chair warns of tougher times ahead
The Green Construction Board has already completed a quarter of its work, construction minister Mark Prisk has said.
The Green Construction Board was set up last October to take forward the government鈥檚 Low Carbon Construction Action Plan.
Speaking at Ecobuild this week, Prisk said the board had now completed a quarter of the key tasks set out in the plan.
鈥淲e know that in a tough economic market there will be businesses that say, 鈥楧o we need to be doing this now?鈥 But actually it鈥檚 an opportunity,鈥 Prisk said.
Dan Labbad, chief executive of Lend Lease and co-chair of the board, said: 鈥淚 dare say that first 25% is some of the easy things. It鈥檚 going to get harder.鈥
He said he wanted the board become a 鈥渢rusted adviser鈥 to government and be involved in developing policy early.
