The National Transition Council is seeking firms to rebuild Tripoli airport and Misrata hospital
The Libyan authorities are looking to UK construction firms to help rebuild key infrastructure in the war-hit country in the wake of the fall of tyrant Muammar Gaddafi.
The National Transition Council (NTC) is currently working on setting up a new interim government in the coming days.
Consulting firm PA Consulting, which has been contracted by UK Trade Investment to size up opportunities in the country said that the NTC is seeking firms to rebuild Tripoli airport and a large hospital in Misrata.
Angus Collins, management consultant and government specialist at PA Consulting, said there were 鈥渟ubstantial鈥 construction opportunities in the country.
Collins added UKTI is set to more than double its presence in the country by November, from four to around ten.
黑洞社区 understands no UK construction firms have yet returned to Libya, although two large engineers attended a recent trade mission to the country with trade minister Lord Green.
