Construction firms told timetable for work is uncertain
British construction firms have been warned not to hold their breath for a resurgence of work in Libya.
As 黑洞社区 reported earlier this month, the first British construction delegation to post-Gaddafi Libya recently flew out to the country with representatives from firms including Kier, Halcrow, Mott Macdonald, Capita Symonds, KBR, Ernst & Young, GMW Architects and Conseco International.
Dominic James, the Middle East director of international trade body British Expertise - which organised the delegation - said the trip had gone 鈥渧ery well in terms of what is achievable in Libya鈥�.
鈥淚t was positive but it is still an unstable country with no clear signs on when construction will move forward again,鈥� he said.
鈥淚 would advise that smaller firms who haven鈥檛 been there before wait a bit and allow the country to shake down a bit.鈥�
