Agency now has the right to enforce CPOs on affected Stratford businesses after year's end
Legal ownership of the Olympic Games site has gone through the final stages to becoming assumed by The London Development Agency (LDA).
Ownership of the site in east London now means that the agency can enforce compulsory purchase orders (CPOs) on the remaining businesses which have yet to be relocated from the Stratford site.
The 193 traders have had to find new premises, as all will be required to move away by the end of the year.
It has been confirmed by the LDA that a number of the smaller businesses may have to shut down if they cannot afford the cost of the relocation.
The LDA has a 拢625m compensation budget to cover the eviction process and said it has reached voluntary agreements with the majority of businesses.
