The Queensferry Crossing is illuminated
A view of the Queensferry Crossing as it is illuminated to mark the handover of the completed project to the Scottish government, on Monday night.
The £1.35bn project is the longest three-tower, cable-stayed bridge in the world at 1.7 miles. The bridge was built by a consortium comprised of Dragados, Hochtief, American Bridge International and Morrison. As ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø went to press it was due to open to traffic on Wednesday of this week and to be officially opened by the Queen on 4 September.
