Housing developer Hub strikes deal to build 213 homes on the site of the Old Vinyl Factory development in west London
The £250m redevelopment of the Old Vinyl Factory in London has taken another step forward after housing developer Hub struck a deal to build 213 homes on the site.
Hub said this week it had finalised contracts with Cathedral Group and Development Securities for 213 homes on the site of the Old Vinyl Factory development in Hayes, west London.
The two sites are known as the Boiler House and Material Store, which together have existing outline planning consent for approximately 213 homes.
Detailed planning consent was also granted for the Boiler House earlier this year.
The Boiler House and Material Store represent the latest phase of the £250m redevelopment of the site of the former HMV/EMI record factory.
The first phase of scheme - the 132 home Gatefold ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø - is currently being built by a partnership between Invesco and Willmott Dixon.
The 17-acre scheme, one of the largest regeneration projects in west London, involves more than 630 homes and 750,000 sq ft of commercial and leisure space - including a seven-screen multiplex cinema, museum, restaurant complex, shops and bars.
Alongside this, the redeveloped 100,000 sq ft Record Store building will become the home of the Central Research Laboratory.
Benefitting from the planned Crossrail connection at Hayes and Harlington station, the Old Vinyl Factory master plan was granted planning consent by Hillingdon council in 2013.
