Contractor and housebuilder scoops contracts in Enfield, Yorkshire and Plymouth
Galliford Try, the housebuilding and construction group, has secured three contracts to provide affordable housing worth £50m.
The company has been awarded a £24.3m contract to build 221 affordable homes in Watermill Lane, Enfield for Origin Housing. Work will start on site in mid August with completion expected by May 2013.
As part of its framework contract with East Riding of Yorkshire council, Galliford Try has been awarded contracts totalling £14m to provide 137 homes in Bridlington as part of the government’s new programme of direct funding to local authorities. Most of these homes are to level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
It will also be carrying out a development worth £11.7m in Barne Barton, Plymouth which will include 91 affordable homes for the Devon & Cornwall Housing Association, supported by a £5m investment by the Homes and Community Agency, made through the National Affordable Housing Programme. These are due for completion by March 2012.
