Project due to wrap in quarter two of 2020
Galliford Try has been tapped to build a 拢43m residential development in Birmingham.
The contractor is set to build the 304-apartment project Axium, which is being developed by Court Collaboration on behalf of Hong Kong-based, private luxury residential developer Top Capital Group.
The scheme, which was designed by Birmingham-based architects Glancy Nicholls Architects, is being built on brownfield land to the rear of the 02 Academy.
The development occupies a 2.26-acre site bounded by Windmill Street, Florence Street and Bow Street.
It will deliver 187 one-bedroom apartments and 117 two-bedroom apartments, which will range in size from 486ft2 to 861ft2.
The project is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2020.
Galliford Try is already heavily involved in central Birmingham, constructing commercial offices at One and Three Centenary Square, and a build-to-rent scheme at Arena Central for Dandara.
It is also responsible for delivering a new hotel and conference centre for the University of Birmingham in Edgbaston.
