International line up of speakers announced at Scotland's Lighthouse
Scotland’s architecture and design centre The Lighthouse has announced an international line up of speakers for ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø Biographies, Architecture in Scotland 2006-2008.
The event in Glasgow will look at recent developments in Scotland within the broader European context, and features buildings in Austria (Vorarlberg), Norway and Switzerland (Graubunden,) alongside recently completed developments on Scotland.
Speakers from all three of the international practices featured in the book and associated exhibition - Andreas Cukrowicz of Cukrowicz Nachbaur, (Austria) Børre Skodvin of Jenson & Skodvin (Norway) and Timon Reichle of Gion A. Caminada (Switzerland) – join with Neil Gillespie of Reiach & Hall and Talbot Sweetapple of MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple, whose commitment to regional identity and work in Halifax Nova Scotia has been an inspiration to many of the practices working in field of geographically responsive architecture today.
The symposium will be chaired by Gordon Murray of gm +ad architects.
