The Hackitt report has laid out steps to improving safety in the wake of Grenfell – now action needs to be taken

This month the government launched its consultation on how to implement Dame Judith Hackitt’s recommendations on building regulations and fire safety, prompting ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø to dedicate its ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø Live Club event last week to the issues and questions raised in the 200-page document. The afternoon event in central London, attended by over 100 people, consisted of two panel debates featuring a range of experts and specialists, most of whom have been working with the government since the Grenfell disaster in 2017 to improve construction industry practices and bring about a wholesale culture change among the professions and trades.
