This week鈥檚 #buildingdoodle sketch is by Georgia Hamilton of Granit Architects.
Project leader Emily Osler says: 鈥淲ith London鈥檚 need to 鈥榖uild denser鈥� intensifying, as architects we鈥檒l need to adapt to ensure we鈥檙e always optimising the city鈥檚 unused airspace. In this sketch, the airspace is located above a busy car park.鈥�
This sketch contributed to an in-house competition at Granit Architects to find creative and innovative ways of utilising London鈥檚 unused airspace while retaining the original purpose and function of the existing space below.
