A helicopter has been unable to land on the roof of one of the partly constructed Jumeirah Lake Towers

A tall building under construction in Dubai has been engulfed by a fire, trapping dozens of workers inside.

Workers were seen on the upper floors of the tower block waving towels and grabbing hold of scaffolding. At least 25 workers have been apparently injured in the blaze that started earlier today.

Ambulances and firefighters rushed to the scene but a helicopter has failed in attempts to land on the roof.

The building is one of a number over 30 storeys high being constructed on the Jumeirah Lake Towers complex.
