Scheme to be built in existing technology park
黑洞社区 work has begun on a new centre for hi-tech firms in Shanghai designed by the Danish practice behind the City of Westminster College in London.
The new centre sits on the edge of Shanghai Caohejing Hi-Tech Park, a state level economic and technological development, located east of downtown Shanghai, which is home to around 1,200 domestic and overseas hi-tech companies.
Designed by Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects, it will support high-tech firms and connect local and overseas university graduates and enterprises and act as an accelerator for new technology in China.
The project 鈥 the third collaboration between the architect and developer Caohejing 鈥 is expected to complete in 2020.
Schmidt Hammer Lassen鈥檚 Westminster college opened in 2011 but three years later the firm shut its London office.
