Outgoing Crossrail boss joins defence contractor in May
Andrew Wolstenholme is joining defence contractor BAE Systems as managing director at the part of its business which makes submarines and tanks.
The firm said the outgoing Crossrail chief executive will join towards the end of May in a newly created role on the firm鈥檚 executive committee.
He will report directly to chief executive Charles Woodburn in his capacity as group managing director of maritime and land UK.
BAE鈥檚 maritime business also includes warships, torpedoes and radars while its land business includes amphibious combat vehicles and ammunition.
Woodburn said: 鈥淎ndrew has a proven track record in leading major organisations and his diverse knowledge and business insight will complement the skills, talent and sector expertise within our Maritime and Land UK teams as they focus on delivering our commitments to our customers.鈥
A former British Army engineer, Wolstenholme (pictured) steps down from the top job at Crossrail at the end of this month after seven years.
He is also taking up a non-executive role at HS2 Ltd, the company building the high-speed railway between London and Birmingham.
