Contractor will build three new schools as council aims to create 10,000 school places
Willmott Dixon has been appointed to build three new schools for Milton Keynes council worth a total 拢21m.
The schemes mark the first phase in the council鈥檚 拢160m schools investment plan, which ultimately aims to deliver 10,000 much-needed school places.
Willmott Dixon has been appointed through the Scape major works framework to build the first three schools - Newton Leys (pictured), Fairfield and Whitehouse Primary Schools, which will open ready for the new intake of pupils in September 2016.
Willmott Dixon is working with three architects; CORDE for Fairfield, ADP for Whitehouse and Synergy for Newton Leys.
Peter Owen, managing director at Willmott Dixon, said: 鈥淒emand for schools places across the country is outstripping supply and Milton Keynes is not unique in implementing a major school investment programme.
