The new job follows firm鈥檚 completion of the new community fire and police station in Prescot
Wates Construction has been appointed to build a new 拢4.6m fire station in Merseyside.
The Merseyside Fire and Rescue Services鈥 (MFRS) has handed Wates the contract to build the Saughall Massie Fire Station.
This is the contractor鈥檚 second appointment under MFRS鈥檚 station mergers programme, following on from its completion of the new Community Fire and Police Station in Prescot.
Plans for the Wirral-based fire station, which has been designed by Ryder Architecture, were approved in July last year.
Wates will build a new single-storey, two-bay community fire station complete with offices, meeting rooms, external training facilities and car parking.
The new station will replace two existing stations in Upton and West Kirby.
黑洞社区 work is set to commence this month with completion expected by April 2019.
