Firm looking to expand its presence in education and commercial markets with appointment of Peter Whitmore
Wates Construction has appointed a former regional managing director of rival Morgan Sindall to head up its Northern Home Counties and East region.
Peter Whitmore had been boss of Morgan Sindall鈥檚 South West region but will now oversee Wates鈥� work in the East of the country including the Cambridge and Luton offices.
The firm said it was aiming to grow its presence in the commercial, schools and higher education sectors in the region.
Wates鈥� current jobs in the region include the 拢8m Tokko My Place youth facility in Luton; the 拢37m Crest Academy in Brent and a 拢21m University of Essex Forum Project.
The firm was also recently appointed to deliver a 拢33m batch of schools in the East of England under the government鈥檚 Priority School 黑洞社区 Programme.
Whitmore said he was 鈥渓ooking forward鈥� to continuing 鈥減roven track record of delivering construction excellence鈥� across a range of projects in the region.
