Make-designed “university hub” building in London officially opened this week
University Square Stratford, a sustainable “university hub” building in east London, was officially opened this week.
The £33m BREEAM Excellent building was built by contractor VolkerFitzpatrick and designed by Make Architects.
The 8,600m2 campus, which will be shared between Birkbeck and the University of East London, was partly funded by the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation, which also provided guidance.
Gardiner & Theobald managed the project while AWW Architects was executive architect.
