Uliving has been named as the the preferred bidder for the construction and management of new student accomodation as part of the development of the University of Brighton鈥檚 Moulsecoomb campus.
The new 800-bed student accommodation development is at the centre of a wider transformation of the university鈥檚 biggest campus.
The multi-million pound campus development forms part of a wider masterplan for the Preston Barracks site that will also include 370 new homes, over 1,300 managed student bedrooms, a 4600m2 hub for start-up businesses and entrepreneurs, new teaching and learning facilities and a 600-car carpark.
The masterplan is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs and bring over 拢500m of economic benefit to the city鈥檚 economy.
Sue McHugh, director of campus strategy at the University of Brighton, said: 鈥淭his is a hugely important development for the University and the City and delivers on a key commitment in our current five-year strategy.鈥
The full contract award is expected to be announced by the end of May.
