This pavilion, designed by graduate students Alan Dempsey and Alvin Huang, has been erected at the Architectural Association in central London
The design beat 27 others from graduates of the AA Design Research Lab. It is made of 850 interlocking fibre-reinforced cement panels by Rieder of Austria. These are normally used for cladding and the challenge was to employ them structurally. Hanif Kara of Adams Kara Taylor provided structural advice.
