Skanska has been appointed by developer Nord to build an office complex in Bristol’s commercial district.
Construction of the six-storey, 33,750 sq ft scheme known as One Portwall Square, which is located next to Bristol council’s own 100 Temple Street office, will start on 9 November and is due to complete late next year.
Designed by Stirling prize winners Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, the scheme includes a new landscaped public square at the front of the property, while each upper floor will benefit from a generous terrace.
The wider project team includes M&E engineer Arup, project manager and quantity surveyor Gardiner & Theobald and structural engineer Elliott Wood.
The project (pictured) will be built to BREEAM Excellent and EPC Rating A standards.
It has also achieved WiredScore Certification Platinum and CyclingScore Certification Platinum and will connect into Bristol council’s district heat network, providing a more sustainable way of heating that offers cost efficiencies and a greener energy source.
