Matthew Sumpter to lead firm鈥檚 South East private sector pipeline for mixed-use schemes
Ridge has raided Gleeds for its new cost management partner in its London office.
Matthew Sumpter has been appointed to lead the firm鈥檚 mixed-use private sector pipeline in the South East.
Sumpter has spent the last eight years at Gleeds and was its London cost management director since May 2020.
Prior to this he was project director for mixed-use schemes in the capital, following stints as an associate director and several quantity surveying roles.
Ridge partner and London office chief Murray Farrant said Sumpter鈥檚 appointment would help the 鈥渄rive our vision to grow into these sectors鈥.
Sumpter said there was 鈥減lenty of work to go after鈥 in the South East, adding: 鈥淭he commercial market is buoyant, having picked up post-covid. Residential remains active, with London鈥檚 prime residential extremely attractive to overseas investors, and we鈥檙e also seeing a return for hotels and hospitality 鈥 which were hit hardest by the pandemic.鈥
He also sits on the South East committee of the British Council for Offices and is a member of the Council on Tall 黑洞社区s and Urban Habitat.
Meanwhile, Gleeds has brought back a former director at its London office as its new head of regeneration.
Natascha McIntyre-Hall has returned to the firm following a stint as assistant director of strategic developments with Portsmouth City Council.
