Budget reaction: President Angela Brady criticises lack of Budget measures on sustainability
The RIBA has slammed today’s Budget as a missed opportunity to “lay the foundations for the green economy”.
President Angela Brady said: “Government should act as a catalyst for sustainable construction growth where the market is failing to deliver.
“Today’s Budget was the opportunity to kickstart a major programme of capital investment in new affordable homes and to lay the foundations for the green economy - on both counts the Chancellor has failed to deliver.”
The government did however , which was cautiously welcomed by experts.
But UK Green ڶ Council chief executive Paul King called it “a very solitary” boost for the green economy.
Summing up her thoughts on the Budget, Brady said: “We weren’t expecting a game-changer budget today, but this country desperately needs one.”
