As Tour de France hits the continent industry professionals are given chance to emulate Wiggins and Millar in the Cycle to Cannes MIPIM ride
The organisers behind the Cycle to Cannes, MIPIM 2008 bike challenge have opened up registrations for the 2008 event.
The Cycle to Cannes Charity Challenge 2008 will take place from 6-11 March 2008, and participants will be able to cycle about 100 km a day over the 1,500 km distance.
The 2008 ride will have room for 120 riders, and people wishing to pre-register early should email c2c@wordsearch.co.uk.
The ride has expanded over recent years and for 2008 there are rumours that a crack Russian squad will be freewheeling to the South of France.
The event began in 2006 with just 17 riders, who raised 拢100,000 for charity. Last year 52 riders raised over 拢270,000 for various good causes including LandAid, The Tom ap Rhys Pryce Memorial Trust and Architects for Aid (A4A). The organisers are aiming to raise 拢500,000 in 2008.
