Interbrand鈥檚 evaluation will help fund the London postgraduate college鈥檚 new Battersea premise

The Royal College of Art brand has been valued at 拢57m by global branding consultant Interbrand.

The latest announcement will boost the college's chances of gaining continued funding from the Higher Education Funding Council for England.

It will also help finance the RCA's new home for the fine and applied arts in Battersea, expected to be completed in 2013.

Jeremy Myerson, RCA Helen Hamlyn professor of design, told Design Week: 鈥淚t's been a robust financial exercise that shows how the RCA's brand gives the college an economic leverage.鈥

Interbrand said assets included the reputation of teachers as well as the high standard of work produced by students and the college's prestigious location on Kensington Gore.
