Contractors have been put on notice for a 拢55m medical research centre in London.

The London Institute of Medical Sciences project, which is being funded by the Medical Research Council and Imperial College London, will enable facilities currently spread around various buildings on the Hammersmith Hospital Campus to be brought together into a single facility.

The new 10,000m2 building, which will include an in-vitro imaging centre, has been designed by architect Hawkins Brown, with Buro Happold as engineer.

The 34-month contract is set to start on 31 January next year and run until 24 November, 2021.

Contractors have unitl 20 September to register their interest in the project, wit a shortlist of no more than five firms expected to be invited to tender 30 October.
