Profit at Zaha Hadid Architects rose sharply last year thanks to booming workloads around the globe
The firm carries out just 拢1.5m of its near 拢37m revenue in the UK with the volume of work undertaken in its markets outside Europe rising in all markets.
The biggest jump was in its North Africa, US and Rest of the World market where turnover rose from 拢492,000 in 2012 to 拢4.2m.
Revenue in Asia Pacific, where the Galaxy Soho office and retail scheme in Beijing was completed in 2012, and the Middle East were also up but work in Europe slipped by 拢520,000 to 拢8.6m while revenue in the UK crashed from 拢4m to 拢1.5m 鈥� a fall likely to have been as a result of its work on the 2012 Olympics aquatics centre coming to end.
Pre-tax profit in the year to April 2013 was 拢4.1m 鈥� up from 拢1.9m 鈥� while turnover was up 7% to 拢36.9m.
The firm employed 354 people during the period, up from the 304 recorded the year before. The wage bill at the business went up 拢1.7m to 拢12.7m during the period.
In the firm鈥檚 directors鈥� report, Hadid said: 鈥淶HG [Zaha Hadid Group] has achieved significant success in established and developing markets and completed seminal projects that demonstrate the practice鈥檚 commitment to the highest standards of design and innovation.鈥�
