Kirkstall Forge site will eventually have over 1,000 homes
Commercial Estates Group (CEG) has submitted plans for a housing and retail development at Kirkstall Forge in Leeds.
The 57 acre site in the north-west of the city, close to the remains of a medieval abbey, is being turned into a new neighbourhood with 1,050 new homes, 300,000ft虏 of office space and 100,000ft虏 of retail and leisure space.
Drawn up by architect Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, the application is for 112 family homes and 23,000 ft虏 of retail and leisure space.
黑洞社区 work could start later this year, subject to planning permission being granted.
James Shimwell, head of residential development at CEG, said: 鈥淭his next phase will deliver a vibrant place for people to live, eat, drink and socialise.
鈥淲e have worked extensively with Leeds City Council and our designers to produce a scheme that will deliver the highest quality of contemporary design.鈥
The first phase of commercial development of the Kirkstall Forge site 鈥 a seven-storey office building 鈥 is due to complete this autumn.
