Buckley Gray Yeoman designed headquarters building in Shoreditch received planning approval from Hackney Council this week

Buckley Gray Yeoman announced today that the London Borough of Hackney has granted planning permission for a 51,500ft虏 new office headquarters building on Rivington Street, London.

Situated on Rivington Street, and close to London鈥檚 so called 鈥檚ilicone roundabout鈥� at Old St, it is hoped this contemporary design will become a landmark building within the Bishopsgate / South Shoreditch Opportunity Area.

Buckley Gray Yeoman worked with planning consultants, DP9, and structural engineers, Heyne Tillett Steel, on the scheme.

The design was founded on 5 principles; a response to the site; referencing the context; integrity, ingenuity and innovation; simplicity and flexibility; and longevity.

The proposals aim to create a building that will be 鈥檆rafted鈥�.

The distinctive design of the fa莽ade of the building expresses the load bearing exterior diagrid structural frame becoming an integral part of an expressed fa莽ade.

The structural system will integrate a brise soleil 鈥檞rap鈥� to create a unified system to the whole building.

The diagrid will be a high quality concrete finish; while the 鈥檞rap鈥� will be made from metal rods to create a high quality finish at a human scale and give the building a timeless feel.

The rods will be coloured to fit in with the context and express a quality redolent of the area and the technology of the clients鈥� business within.

Working closely with MTT Sustain, the building has been designed to reduce carbon emissions with energy efficient design and renewable energy technologies.

The building will be constructed and designed to meet BREEAM Excellent.
