Office development over 18 storeys could be new location for Ministry of Justice, accommodating 5,000 civil servants
Liverpool's Pall Mall 拢70m office development, set to accommodate 5,000 civil servants relocated from London, has been supported by the city council's planning committee.
The 228,000 sq ft scheme, designed by architect, Broadway Malyan and proposed for construction in the city's commercial quarter will open up thousands of civil service jobs in Liverpool and should kickstart expansion of the area, encouraging the regeneration of an otherwise underdeveloped part of the city.
The project should put Liverpool in a good position to be chosen for the new location for 5,000 Ministry of Justice jobs set to be moved from their current London location. This new Pall Mall complex is expected to be the office space these civil servants are relocated to.
The 18-storey tower was praised by planners for its "high quality architecture and modern design."
