Preferred bidders to be announced in the autumn
Ofgem E-Serve has revealed the shortlisted bidders competing to own and run connections to the Gwynt y Mor, Lincs and London Array offshore wind projects.
The shortlisted bidders are:
- Balfour Beatty Equitix consortium 鈥 a consortium of Balfour Beatty Capital and Equitix
- Blue Transmission 鈥 a consortium of Macquarie Capital, Barclays Infrastructure Funds Management and Mitsubishi Corporation
- National Grid Offshore
- Transmission Capital Partners 鈥 a consortium of Transmission Capital Partners and International Public Partnerships
Under the contract the successful bidder will become offshore transmission owners and will take ownership of the links, guaranteeing a stable regulated income for 20 years.
Ofgem will announce the preferred bidders for the Lincs and London Array phase one projects in the autumn. The preferred bidder for the Gwynt y Mor project will be selected at a later date.
Tenders for the Humber Gateway project, West Duddon Sands and Race Bank projects are expected to start next spring.
In total the six projects are worth approximately 拢2bn.
