Ministry鈥檚 10-year plan includes military house and four regional prime contracts

The Ministry of Defence is set out its plans for 拢5bn of estate work over the next 10 years.

The MoD鈥檚 investment board has now approved a new generation of contracts which were proposed by Defence Estates after 18 months of work. The plan includes a UK-wide contract for the Defence Training Estate and another for military housing, four regional prime contracts (one less than the current five) and further deals for some core works.

The total value will be 拢5bn over 10 years, excluding additional major projects and some further 鈥榠njections鈥.

Defence Estates said it will now finalise the individual contracts before inviting expressions of interests this autumn. The contracts will be awarded between late 2011 and 2014.
