Operator escapes injury after telehandler turns over after road accident
Construction work at the Arora Hotel next to Heathrow Terminal 5 was disrupted yesterday by an overturned mobile crane.
The telehandler, which was leased in by contractor Laing O鈥橰ourke, was involved in a road accident and rolled over. No-one was hurt.
An eyewitness said construction workers stopped work to take pictures with their mobile phones, but were quickly prevented from doing so by senior staff.
Although main construction has finished on the terminal building, Laing O鈥橰ourke are still in the process of building a hotel complex next to the the Terminal 5 site.
A Laing O鈥橰ourke spokesperson said: 鈥淲e don鈥檛 know the reason why the accident happened yet, but we are investigating."
