Recently acquired business grabs Galliford Try a better foothold in the Scottish education market
Miller Construction has reached financial close on 拢51m of Scottish education projects.
The projects are the first jobs to reach financial close since the firm was sold to Galliford Try earlier this month for 拢16.6m
In a statement to the City, Galliford Try reported that Miller Construction had reached financial close on a 拢35.4m project to construct the new Inverness Royal Academy and a 拢15.4m project to construct Noss Primary School in Wick.
The firm was appointed by client Hub North Scotland Limited, a public/private development company working in partnership with the Highland Council.
The Inverness Royal Academy includes a four-storey school, sports pitches, an outdoor terraced teaching area and gardens and landscaping and isdue to complete in the summer of 2016.
The Noss primary school includes a school building and a nursery for nearly 400 pupils and is due to complete in the spring of 2016.
Greg Fitzgerald, chief executive of Galliford Try, said the award of the contracts showed why the addition of Miller Construction鈥檚 鈥渞eputation and strong market presence in the education sector鈥� was 鈥渁n important addition to the group鈥�.
