Structure will serve as ferry terminal
Belfast firm McLaughlin & Harvey has been appointed to build a £5.5m pier and terminal building on Royal Wharf in Newham, East London.
Royal Wharf Pier (pictured) will serve as a Thames Clipper terminal for the residents of a housing scheme under development by Ballymore and Oxley.
The 250m pier, designed by London architect Nex, will also feature a public promenade and viewing platform with timber seating.
It is due to open to the public in late 2019.
The residential development at Royal Wharf will see 3,385 homes delivered to the riverside and includes a high street, sides streets and mews.
The scheme runs for almost a kilometre along the riverside and covers 162,000m2.
