Green light for proposals by Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville to redevelop city鈥檚 former Stock Exchange
Plans to refurbish Manchester鈥檚 former Stock Exchange as a 35-bedroom boutique hotel have been given the go-ahead by Manchester City Council.
The scheme, created by AEW Architects for ex-Manchester United players Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville, will also see private members鈥 space, a restaurant, and a rooftop bar added to the Grade II-listed 1906 building.
Mike Ralph, head of planning at consultants Zerum, said the development would be a high-quality scheme that would regenerate a long-vacant landmark building.
鈥淭his planning approval creates an important platform for our client to finalise its operational requirements before hopefully pressing on with the implementation of what is an exciting scheme for this important city centre property,鈥 he said.
