Joint venture has been working on scheme since 2015
A joint venture made up of Jacobs and Mace has won more work at next year’s Expo in Dubai.
Since its appointment as project manager in January 2015, the JV has been part of the team responsible for managing the design and construction of the Expo 2020 Dubai site.
Now the team has been named programme delivery management provider for the event which is expected to attract more than 25 million visitors when it opens next October.
Last year the JV was appointed as the government’s delivery partner for the UK pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
It is responsible for managing the design, procurement and construction of the pavilion for the Department for International Trade.
Other UK firms working on the project, include Laing O’Rourke which last year was awarded two contracts worth a combined £130m to build the Expo’s leadership and media pavilions.
Bam’s international arm is building the Museum of the Future, designed by Atkins’ former design director Shaun Killa’s firm, Killa Partnership. The 78m-tall building will include six exhibition floors and is expected to open in time for next year’s event.
