Former Bovis boss Colin Harvey brought in to replace Steve Gillingham
Mace has moved to plug the gap caused by Steve Gillingham鈥檚 departure to Rider Levett Bucknall by bringing in the property head of car maker Jaguar.
Gillingham joined Mace in 2004 and helped set up its QS operations in the capital before heading up to Manchester a year later, helping roll out Mace鈥檚 cost consulting business into the regions.
But after 14 years he joined RLB last month as partner where he is heading up its public sector business.
Now Mace has brought in Colin Harvey, the boss of Jaguar Land Rover鈥檚 (JLR) property delivery team, to head up its 100-strong property consultancy business across northern England and Scotland, where it has offices in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Hull and Edinburgh.
Harvey (pictured) has been at Jaguar since 2015 and according to his Linked In profile, the property delivery team 鈥渟pecialise in providing programme management, project management and cost management across the JLR non-manufacturing property and infrastructure estate鈥.
He worked on a number of schemes for the luxury car brand including Laing O鈥橰ourke鈥檚 ongoing 拢200m-plus contract at the firm鈥檚 Gaydon complex to build new offices, a design studio and showroom.
His CV also includes spells at Capita and Bovis Lend Lease where he spent nearly 11 years, including two years heading up its UK North business based in Manchester. During his time there he was in charge of a number of high-profile jobs including the 拢110m Manchester Civil Justice Centre, designed by Denton Corker Marshall which was nominated for the Stirling Prize in 2007.
Harvey, who started out as a QS at John Laing, spending 16 years at the firm, said: 鈥淚鈥檓 really looking forward to getting back to work in the North and helping the well-established team to enhance their presence even further across the region.鈥
Mace is currently project managing the 拢330m refurbishment of Manchester town hall with two bidders 鈥 Lendlease and Laing O鈥橰ourke 鈥 due to find out before the end of the year who has won the main construction works.
