The contractor has posted a 19% increase in turnover in its latest financial results

Mace has taken a big step towards its 拢2bn turnover target after growing 19% last year to post revenue of 拢1.77bn.

In a snapshot of its results for the 2015 calendar year, shared with 黑洞社区 ahead of publication expected on Wednesday, Mace also posted a small rise in pre-tax profit to 拢36.2m, up from 拢35m the previous year. Revenue had stood at 拢1.49bn in 2014, with the firm aiming to hit the 拢2bn mark by 2020.

The builder behind London鈥檚 Shard continued to pick up some of the UK鈥檚 most high profile projects last year, including the revamp of Tottenham Hotspur鈥檚 new stadium and a 拢123m Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners-designed job for the London School of Economics.

Next weekend another of the firm鈥檚 big and highly-anticipated projects, the Herzog and de Meuron-designed Tate Modern extension on London鈥檚 South Bank, opens to the public.

Mace鈥檚 headcount increased by 379 to 5,036, of which 71 of the new hires were graduates, of whom a third were women.
