Upgrade and repair work to the building designed by Alfred Waterhouse is to take seven years
Mace has been appointed project manager for the 拢328m revamp of Manchester鈥檚 grade I-listed Town Hall.
The firm joins Faithful+Gould, who have been appointed as QS; Ramboll, which is providing structural and civil engineering services, and heritage architect Purcell on the scheme.
Arup has been also appointed as the building services and engineering contractor, while Planit IE will work on the landscape design.
The seven-year project will see the building designed by Alfred Waterhouse in the 1860s repaired and upgraded.
Council leader Bernard Priest said: 鈥淭he Our Town Hall project is a complex, once-in-a-lifetime challenge, which will result in the full repair and upgrade of Manchester鈥檚 civic centrepiece.鈥
Previously Mace has project managed the transformation of the city鈥檚 Central Library and the Town Hall Extension for the city council.
