Exclusive: Contractor selected as construction manager for Mitsubishi Estate Company project in the City of London
Lend Lease has been selected as construction manager for the £60m River Plate House job in Moorgate for the Mitsubishi Estate Company.
The project, which is development managed by Stanhope, is the latest significant contract win for Lend Lease following on from landing the £170m Kingsgate House job in Victoria for Land Securities, and a £240m student housing job for Manor Property Group.
The River Plate house scheme, designed by Stirling prize-winning architect Wilkinson Eyre, is next to the grade II listed Edwin Lutyens-designed Britannic House in Finsbury Circus, and was given planning permission by the City of London in November last year.
The scheme envisages demolishing the existing eighties building on the site to construct a nine-storey 23,000m2 office building, including demolition of the existing facade.
The contract win emerged as Lend Lease also won planning for the first phase of the Elephant & Castle Heygate Estate regeneration in south London.
The 235-home scheme, designed by architect de Rijke Marsh Morgan, was approved by Southwark council last week.
