£2m building by architect dRMM is clad in gold-coloured shingles
A landmark £2m registry office on Blackpool seafront by dRMM Architects has opened. Festival House is clad in gold-coloured stainless steel shingles and offers newlyweds panoramic views of Blackpool Tower and the sea. The pavilion, built by Parkinson Contractors, is located on the ‘People’s Promenade’ and is part of Blackpool council’s £250m revamp of the resort. dRMM is one of several practices that designed plots on the athletes’ village at the London 2012 Olympic Park.
