Up to 30 directors are to leave Laing O鈥橰ourke in the restructuring announced earlier this month, sources close to the situation have said
Ray O鈥橰ourke, chairman and chief executive, wrote to employees to reveal the major restructuring, which he said would result in 鈥渟ignificant鈥 job cuts among the firm鈥檚 11,750 staff, including management layers.
Separate sources said they had been told 30 directors at the firm would go, many of whom are thought to be those brought in by chief operating officer Tony Douglas when he arrived from BAA in 2007.
A source said: 鈥淭here will be 1,100 job losses overall, and around 30 are at director level.鈥
The news emerged amid continued speculation over the future of Douglas at the firm, after 黑洞社区 reported he had reached a deal to take charge of some parts of the business.
Laing O鈥橰ourke declined to comment.
