Government grant for the Gateway Knowledge Alliance will pay for a construction centre and further mobile units
The government has agreed a funding package of more than £2m to train workers for construction and engineering work in the Thames Gateway in Kent.
The £2.2m funding package awarded to the Gateway Knowledge Alliance - made up of schools, universities and colleges - will pay for an £800,000 construction training centre, as well as four mobile centres and three mobile units.
Current construction plans for Kent include a masterplan for 2000 homes in Swale, together with community and leisure facilities and landscaped open space.
